Overseeing strategic communications for the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC Global), including all public relations, marketing, and outreach activities in support of the Center’s U.S. and international disaster risk reduction initiatives and life-saving missions across the globe. Pacific Disaster Center is recognized worldwide as a leader in the innovation of life-saving early warning technologies, AI-powered novel insights, and DisasterAWARE risk intelligence. Our groundbreaking capabilities support evidence-based decision-making globally and have elevated national standards for disaster readiness and resilience.During my tenure at PDC, I've helped garner international recognition and public awareness for the Center's world-class technological and scientific innovations—contributing to PDC's prestigious 2022 UN Sasakawa Award for Disaster Risk Reduction. I currently direct the Center's omnichannel marketing and communications strategy, intersecting with every facet of PDC's product development, public outreach, and publicity. My expertise includes video-based storytelling, visual design, public relations, user interface design, web development, and social media content creation and curation. My technical specializations wnable me to translate complex scientific information into easy-to-understand, digestible consumer products for senior-level decision-makers across sectors. I also support global disaster risk reduction initiatives and ground-level, life-saving response operations across Latin America, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Africa. My international assignments have included providing public relations support and strategic messaging for elected and senior-level officials faced with crises and large-scale disasters, as well as multi-agency coordination and the synthesis of data into clear, actionable insights.
