About Channing George

I’ve always been empathetic. For as long as I can remember, my emotions have been in tune with those around me. From feeling an immense amount of joy when seeing my twin brother graduate from university to the sense of dread and isolation from defining moments in my childhood, I’ve become in tune with my feelings. With that in mind, I’ve been able to submerse myself in environments that will indirectly bring me happiness and joy. My a cappella experience allowed me to express my sentiments through sound with those who had a similar mindset. The time I spent volunteering for Camp Kesem at University of Vermont, a national nonprofit that helps children through and beyond their parents’ cancer, made me realize that by helping those suffering helped to raise my own spirits. Through the activities I spent while not enveloped in my academics aided in honing in my emotional connection with others. I’ve had the pleasure to learn about myself emotionally from my past and I hope to harness that in the future; to not only better the lives of others through my actions, but by doing so uplifting my own self-worth. Most recently I’ve had the privilege of using these skills in the HOBSCOTCH Institute at Dartmouth Health; a self-management program helping individuals with epilepsy control their memory problems. In the long-term future, I hope to become a pediatrician, to help future generations make their own impact in the world without their health and well-being from preventing it. I am experienced in data organization and analysis, detail orientation, time-management, and the use of the French language.
