About Chantal Kot

I am a professional Teacher with a Bachelor of Education with Intermediate/Senior Qualifications in Geography, English, Religion (Specialist), Guidance, and Career Studies. I am also certified in Advanced Leadership. I have worked in education overseas and in Ontario for 20+ years. My skills include curriculum implementation, developing lesson plans and assessments for grades 9 to 12, and evaluating, and providing descriptive feedback for student improvement. In leadership roles, I often provide staff with professional development on de-streamed and thinking classroom strategies and work with parents and student success and administration teams for student achievement. I am proficient in MS Office, Teams, Outlook, Google Apps, and Brightspace D2L. Building community is an important part of my vocation that I do through supervising student initiatives such as Social Justice Council, Student Equity and Engagement Council, providing a safe space at lunch for marginalized students, working with cross-panel teaching staff, community leaders, and city staff for experiential learning opportunities, and as an active member of the social and pastoral committees at my school. I believe strongly in the concept of servant leadership and building relationships in order for students and peers of diverse backgrounds to feel valued, hone their skills, develop global competencies, and achieve success.
