About Charika Carter

Charika Carter is on a mission to build-up, empower and provide holistically sound approaches to help those affected by trauma and stressful life experiences that cause disturbances in relationships begin to heal. Charika believes that through these healthier perceptions of themselves, the cycle of dysfunction can be eradicated within family units. Charika holds a B.A. in Psychology from Troy University in Troy, Alabama and an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Danville Community College in Danville, Virginia. As a direct service provider and advocate with focuses on equity, domestic violence, sexual assault, homelessness, trauma and resiliency for the past five years, she has worked with community partners to ensure that those she serves are provided with the necessary supportive services needed to grow and become peaceful, complete, whole and safe. Charika, along with her partner, has launched a successful business, Caring Hands, that caters to those who are diagnosed with mental illnesses that affect their ability to care for themselves, helping them to live their most successful lives. Charika has over fifteen years of mental health experience. Charika launched R.Carter, LLC, a business that produces customized guided journals and planners, to help people succeed in reaching goals and in daily life. This business allows Charika to mentor new business owners and help them create a path to success.
