I am currently employed at Idwala Industrial Holdings, a mining group company, mining Limestone and manufacturing Burnt Lime and Hydrated Lime. My current appointment is Divisional Risk (SHREQ) Manager; responsible for Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality in these operations:1. Idwala Lime Mine – Located in the Northern Cape province in Danielskuil.2. Lime Distributors – Located in Gauteng province in Vereeniging.I’ve been in the Mining and manufacturing industry for 14 years (to date); five years in a senior position as a head of department, my main responsibilities includes- Management of the SHREQ system (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 17025)- Enforcing the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996and Regulation (MHSAct) ensuring legalcompliance- Enforcing the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 (OHSAct) ensuring legal compliance- Ensuring that customer and production requirements are met thus minimizing rejects products- Investigating and chairing customer complaint and SHEQ incidents including dangerousoccurrences- Lead the team through all SHEQ internal and external audits including regulatory inspections- Lead and co-ordinates all SHEQ risk assessment including environmental aspects and impact- Management of subordinates to ensure that, as a team, we perform tasks to the highest optimumlevels- Management of the onsite Occupational health Clinic- Drafting and implementing SHEQ standard operating procedures and regulated code of practices- Evaluating and assessing the competency of employees onsite- Chairing of Disciplinary Hearing.
