About Charlene Chu

I love working on innovative solutions to the problems that face older adults today. My research program focuses on co-designing and evaluating technology-enabled solutions for older adults and their caregivers in post-acute care settings. The underlying ethos behind my work is person-centeredness, user-centred design and co-design. Technology is being developed for older adults with little insight from clinicians and end-users contributing to minimal uptake of new innovations - I'm interested in bridging this gap. I have publications in the following research interests: digital ageism, bias in AI, multimodal technologies to support healthy aging, ethics of tech use, gerontological nursing, optimizing health service provision to improve outcomes, person-centered care interventions, implementation science, and nursing informatics.
