About 12 years ago I stepped into the "legal world" as a fresh graduate with glitz and glam in mind, soon did I realize that the legal industry is not as "glitzy" as I thought. You have to be bold, dynamic and work extremely hard to get where you want to be and that is exactly what I did. I started out as a candidate Attorney, running around in flat pumps like a crazy doll pushing to get to the next phase:"Admitted Attorney". How wonderful did that sound? Got admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2012 and thought this is my great breakthrough. Life started at that point in time. I had to learn the rules of the game and play it better than anyone else (credit to Albert Einstein). I continued working in the private sector as a practicing Attorney for about a year where after I moved into the public sector. Started as a Legal Officer at Obaro Corporate and worked myself up to Junior Management as a Legal Advisor, got admitted as a Notary in 2016 and formed part of the Credit Committee for a Financial Institution, finally using my B.Comm Economics degree. Managed securities and mitigating risks ensuring compliance with credit laws and regulations. Vet, draft and negotiate Contracts, credit agreements, Payment Arrangements etc. Organized Public Auctions and Executions. Secured and recovered millions of debt yearly. Loved every second of the six years I've been at the Obaro Group. An opportunity presented itself for me to step up to higher grounds and to expand my career. I started at KTC-ZA in 2019 as a Legal Specialist and was super excited to be part of this major Project. I mean, SANRAL, tolls, this is huge right? I form part of the Debt Protection and Collection team and provides support to other Departments such as Procurement, Customer Services, Finance, Commercial and Systems. Provides legal opinions regarding various legislations, regulations, compliance etc. Draft, review and create Department procedures and processes, Operational Cost Value Engineering Proposals and Budgets. Expanding, learning, developing and growing has always been a passion of mine. I have always received excellent feedback from my employers, which proves my strong commitment to perform my responsibilities in a professional and effective manner. I'm a dynamic and hard-working person, doing my utmost best in every situation I take part in. I'm a quick learner and consider myself geared with excellent knowledge and experience. My motto: THE SKY IS NOT THE LIMIT.
