My name is Charlie Balcom and I am a communication, video, and social media professional with over 10 years of experience in those fields. I am currently the Social Media Manager for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and its brands, including the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, The May Festival, and the Vocal Arts Ensemble. I am responsible for crafting and posting organic social content to the organization's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok accounts, as well as shooting and editing photos from rehearsals, concerts, performances, and all other types of organizational events. Before the CSO, I worked as the Digital Media Coordinator for the Athletic Department at Southeast Missouri State University, an NCAA Division I institution located in Cape Girardeau, MO. My primary responsibility was to produce video content for the entire athletic department and its teams, including hype videos, highlights, interviews, features, promotional items, commercials, special projects and video board content. I previously worked as the Assistant Sports Information Director from 2013 to 2018 at Lindsey Wilson College, a highly-successful NAIA institution located in Columbia, Kentucky. I helped lead the communication efforts for the 26 athletic programs, writing press releases. creating games notes and media guides, managing department and team social accounts, inputting statistics, crafting recruiting materials and general game day operations. Prior to joining Lindsey Wilson, I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor's degree in communication with honors and a certificate in journalism.
