About Charles Bartel

My goal is to be a consultant in the motion industry, helping end users to identify their needs, write procurement specificaitons and analyize proposals in responce to the procurement documents. I have desinged motion control systems for industry, military and commerical (entertainment) customers. Customers that I have worked with include Disney Imagineering, US Navy, Universal Studios, US Air Force, Rockwell Collins and FAAC. The day to day activities have included delegating actions to engineering, program management, cost engineering, etc. in order to prepare a proposal that is responsive to the customer needs. Once all of the inputs are in, I write the proposal and negotiate with the customer to implement a purchase order for the program. I have written and taught motion control courses for AiME as part of their Motion Control Certification Program. AiME's goal was to bring recognition to the engineer who had specialized in motion control encompassing mechanical, electrical, software and system engineering skills prior to colleges recognizing this as a skill set and offering courses supporting motion engineering. AiME has folded based on the education opportunities available today. Specialties: My specality is generic motion control based on electrohydraulic, electromechancial and electropneumatic technologies. I implment the technology bridge between the cusotmer needs and the company offering. As a consultant I have written statement of work, developed product/service specifications. As a supplier, I write proposals to define project scope and bound the responsibilities of the seller and buyer to reduce disruptions during program implementation.
