Owner, operator and all around head honcho at Exit9 Gift Emporium. At Exit9 we take fun seriously. I started Exit9 with the East Village location in1995, then added the Brooklyn location and our online shop. Exit9 has flourished among New York City's independent merchants and we are very grateful. Our shops are definitely eclectic. Some of our specialties are Made in New York products and local food. As evidenced by our line of gift boxes featuring these nifty items. We are also known as card shop with unexpected and funny cards.(Not a hallmark store for sure.) People who shop our baby section instantly become the favorite aunt or uncle. And our book section is also off the beaten path. Books you didn't know existed that you can't live without. Our shops are jammed after school as parents and kids come there to decompress. We love that. We are starting to see kids we used to know come in with their kids. It is a pure New York City storefront story. We are active in our communities through EVIMA, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and the East Village Community Coalition. We run a giving program called Tuesdays for Good where we donate funds to local schools and non-profits. Please check us out in the East Village, on Smith Street in Brooklyn or online.
