About Charles Dobson

I am the Knowledge Management Lawyer for Osler's Disputes Group. After almost a decade of running litigation files, I now work exclusively on enhancing advocacy services through a client centric emphasis and the astute use of technology. I collaborate with a range of departments across the Firm to develop, implement, and maintain creative solutions to increase the efficiency and quality of the Firm's advocacy work. In particular, I focus on: Knowledge Management – developing, maintaining, and disseminating precedents and model documents, consulting on practice, strategy, and research; Innovation – assisting with the design, management, and execution of wide-ranging innovation projects, with a particular emphasis on generative AI and data analysis; Pricing – consulting on budgets, estimates, and alternative fee arrangements for litigation; participating in pricing strategy; assisting with designing and implementing phase/task codes and budgeting/estimate/AFA workflows; Business Development – in addition to pricing, consulting on representative work and assisting with various pitch documents and submissions; Technology – vetting and assisting with the rollout of technology for litigation and research, including change management. In addition, I am particularly interested in data analysis for litigation.
