I started in construction as a Union Drywall Finisher Apprentice by default since all the males in my wifes family were already in that trade. I learned as much as i could over the 6 years I was in the trade and got pretty good at it. Money was good but not good enough, and i started doing side jobs for extra income. I did a job for a guy named Joe and was greeted with an opportunity to start a company with him since he already held the licenses needed to perform general construction in California. I knew that was the only way i could ever make a better life for myself and my family, and now i am trying my best to learn the business side of things so i can use my brain and run a successful business instead of being on the front lines. A man told me a story once about a guy that started an engineering company and sold it 2 years later for over 2mil. when asked what type of engineer he was, he replied "I'm not an engineer. I'm a business major." That is the vision i have for my company. I'm not a business major by any means but I have been through 2 lifetimes of real-world experience and know im capable of achieving anything I want. I have the means to do that now, and just need to navigate my way to it. Talk to me in 5 years.
