About Charles Ogolla

I am a dedicated Research Associate and Ph.D. candidate at the University of Siegen, specializing in advanced electron microscopy and material sciences. My work focuses on pushing the boundaries of TEM-based techniques—including STEM-EELS, 4D-STEM, and ptychography—to reveal the nanoscale properties of innovative materials and energy solutions. With a solid foundation from my B.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry at JKUAT and an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Siegen, I have honed my expertise through international research experiences, including a visiting scholar stint at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. My passion for teaching is reflected in my roles in supervising students and designing courses in electron microscopy. At the same time, my research contributions have led to publications in top-tier journals such as Nano Letters, ACS Applied Nano Materials, and Advanced Functional Materials. Beyond the lab, I have demonstrated leadership through active participation in organizations like the young German Society for Electron Microscopy and the German Chemical Society, as well as by engaging in Model United Nations initiatives. I thrive on collaboration and continuous learning, and I am committed to advancing our understanding of material properties to drive technological innovation.
