About Charles Riedl

Charles Riedl is an award-winning director, writer and editor for both film and television. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in film production, he went on to earn a Master’s in film and television production from Syracuse University. Charles began work in the film industry editing movie trailers and over the past 10 years, has bounced back and forth between directing and editing features, episodic television, extreme sports, music videos and commercials. His credit list includes: The Sopranos, Sex and the City, The Seventh Man (starring Val Kilmer), Pinks and Pinks: All Out for SPEED, Exposed (starring Tate Donovan, Lindsay Sloane and Jane Lynch) and multiple extreme sports films and television series for Fox Television, Fuel TV and ESPN. Selected commercial, promo and music video credits include: Charter Communications, 20th Century Fox Television, TBS, A&E, Tribune Entertainment, E! Network, Comcast, HBO, MGM, Playboy TV, Food Network, Time Warner Cable, Martin Mull: The Internet, musical acts The Dragonflies, The Dandy Warhols, TripleSwift, Primer 55, KFP and Chris Dane Owens. Away from the set and studio, Charles splits his time between Los Angeles and heading north to his native Oregon to ski as much as possible.
