About Charles Walker Grimes

Mechanical Engineer focused on robotics and precision machine design. Currently working to advance nanoprecise semiconductor processing and packaging methodologies at the UT Texas Institute for Electronics. Before joining the Texas Institute for Electronics, my experience was in medical devices. I worked for The Shape Sensing Company, where I worked on novel fiber optic 3D shape sensing solutions for medical device applications. Prior to that, I was a mechanical engineer at GE Healthcare, supporting R&D work on the newest generations of MRI coil technology. I also completed the Edison Engineering Development Program, a technical rotational program that exposed me to multiple engineering disciplines and advanced coursework in medical imaging, classical mechanics, signal processing, and thermal management. I am passionate about healthcare and robotics, and I aim to expand my expertise and contribute to the advancement of both fields.
