Background

About Charles Weng

I have over 10 years of experience in the game industry. I have done translations from Chinese to English as well as from English to Chinese. I am familiar with various online tools with AI enhancements to streamline workflow, such as POEditor, Crowdin and others. Games I’ve worked on include ARK: Survival Evolved, Age of Wushu, Atlas, amongst others. Where needed, I provided additional dialogue and flavor text content for these games. I have written original stories for Outlaws of the Old West, and provided translated captions for dialogues in ARK: The Animated Series. For these and all other games, I work closely with quality assurance teams to correct errors and improve the overall gaming experience. I use management tools such as Notion to coordinate our efforts. I’ve published a fantasy/science fiction novel, A Summer in the Life of Laura Kalenko. It is available on Amazon as a Kindle ebook and paperback. I am currently working on its sequel. My skills in journalistic writing were honed since school, where I was an editor for the campus newspapers in University of Chicago and University of California, Irvine. Aside from being literate in Mandarin Chinese, I am also proficient in German.
