About Charley Price

I love to learn. It's a passion is something that has taken me down many different paths in my life so far. It has also made it troublesome to find a career that satiates that desire. I've had an interest in computers and technology from some of my earliest memories. Every path I've taken so far has led me back to working with and understanding computers, and I've come to accept that my calling lies there. My fascination with computers started with playing games on a family computer in the early nineties. I quickly learning the commands I needed to know to run those early programs on DOS. I was utterly fascinated with each new addition to personal computing (a GUI, the world wide web, and burnable CDs to name a few), and often spent just as much time exploring and figuring out how they worked as I did using them practically. As new games and programs were released, there were many occasions where I would spend whole afternoons or evenings attempting to figure out why they didn't work on the PC we had. Most of the time hardware limitations prevented a lot of the latest and greatest software from running, but there were enough times that I would figure out little workarounds. Those moments when I finally got something to work through sheer will and applying the things I had learned up to that point was empowering.I've always been self-motivated to figure stuff out. I taught myself some basic HTML and made a website when the world wide web was new. I was able to make a working computer for myself from a bunch of old workstations my aunt was getting rid of from her work by combining all the best working parts together. I learned enough of the BASIC programing language to make a couple simple programs on a TI-83 graphing calculator that I had for an accelerated math class in high school.Although I strayed from my path in tech for a number of years, over the past two years I've reapplied myself to getting up to date certifications and experience working on modern machines. I want to take that foundation and apply it in a meaningful way. My tangible interest is in technology, but what really motivates me is lifelong learning, problem-solving, and helping others. I'm excited to see where this path takes me next!
