I am a passionate educator who values originality and creativity. Using 21st Century Thinking Skills and expecting pupils to think beyond the classroom walls, I encourage and guide pupils to create outstanding projects that inspire them, as well as others. As an education leader, I believe in sharing and promoting core values and liberal views amongst bodies within and beyond the school. This includes making use of social media and the greater developments in technology. Despite what the mass media would have us believe, South Africa still has many schools that perform at the top levels and that offer a vital and valuable window to the world. and beyond. Teaching is still one of the most rewarding professions - as long as your heart is in the right place and you're passionate about what you are doing! On a personal level, I'm a frustrated architect and poet - mentally redesigning many buildings I enter and often at odds with my muse - particularly with just how political some of my writing may or may not become.
