About Charlie Hampton

I am an alumnus of Virginia Tech's Civil Engineering program. I graduated in December 2020 with a focus in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering. My rural upbringing and passion for outdoor pursuits and hands-on activities led me to the field of Civil Engineering. Growing up hunting, fishing, building, and repairing gave me an affinity for problem solving and improving the world around me. My early work experience such as my time spent in high school as a maintenance ranger at a state park equipped me with a work ethic and communication skills that prepared me for the more meaningful internship opportunities I would enjoy throughout my college experience. I began as a laborer on the Community Boulevard project in Wytheville, Virginia, which opened the door to a co-op opportunity with MBP that eventually led to my first full-time position as an engineer for MBP in Marion, Virginia. In September of 2021, while working as a construction engineer in Virginia, a door opened for me to switch gears and accept a position as an environmental engineer for 3 Tier Alaska in Anchorage, Alaska. Since that time, I have been pursuing adventure in both my personal and professional lives working on various projects as an environmental engineer in Alaska.
