About Charlotte Mason

I am currently working within an SEN provision with a number of children who have varying needs, including Down-Syndrome, ASD and ADHD. Within the classroom I use Makaton in order to communicate with the children. I am enthusiastic, passionate, and determined to make a difference to young children’s education. My experience of working with children has reinforced my ambition to be a positive role model by creating a haven for children to flourish; which is at the forefront of my principles. I believe for children to achieve their full potential they need to discover their love for learning by developing their confidence and subject knowledge as well as having the opportunity to experience new and exciting things. Being a teacher is more than solely the things you teach your students academically, but the everlasting impact you leave on your pupils. I ensure that I continuously support children's holistic development by providing them with the mechanisms to cope with challenges that everyday life can possess. I found my love of working with children from a very young age, and since then I have gone on to volunteer in a nursery setting; nanny for a child with ASD; 1:1 teaching assistant for a child with ASD, ADHD and PDA; and I gained my QTS and PGCE through a school-centred initial teacher training programme. My passion is to create an environment which is stimulating, inspiring, caring and trustworthy for the children I teach. My desire and love for teaching is something which stands out from the moment you meet me, and I cannot wait to further my career and watch the children I teach grow and progress each day.
