I've been a Licensing Officer with the Fraser Health Authority(FHA) since December 5,2001.I specialize in working with residential care facilities which include long term care,mental health, hospice,substance use, acquired injury,group homes for individuals with developmental challenges and youth/residential as some examples.More information regarding some of the duties(as I have also outlined further in my profile)I perform as a Licensing Officer can be found at the following website link: Skills and competencies: 1.Knowledge of persons in care,for example*I am currently a Licensing Officer & I apply the legislation to various settings previously mentioned,*I will be going into my 23rd year of working experience as a Licensing Officer with FHA.I am a senior member of the Licensing Officer team,*Continued education including Primary Care Geriatrics & various workshops 2.Staff relations,for example*I am a senior member in my office,*Through current & previous positions I am aware of the requirements under certain collective agreements 3.Management,for example*I have extensive knowledge of the Community Care & Assisted Living Act, Residential Care Regulation, Community Care Facilities Licensing Branch Standards of Practice in Victoria,BC & other related pieces of legislation,*I have demonstrated through various positions,the ability to work with very minimal direction,meet very tight timelines & manage independently a full work caseload while being an effective member of the team & assisting other team members as well,*I have experience in organizing & chairing meetings,problem solving with various Licensees of licenced facilities,families and networking with other professionals in the field,*I have established firm networks within FHA & within the community,*I have vast experience in conducting assessment of suitability interviews of proposed managers of licenced facilities.
