Charo grew up in Garramilla and completed her Bachelor of Laws at Charles Darwin University in 2013 and her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the Australian National University in that same year. Charo moved to Meanjin in 2013 and started her legal journey with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service in Civil Law, until 2017 before moving to Legal Aid Queensland. Charo became a member of the management committee of the Hub Community Projects in 2021. Charo remained at Legal Aid Queensland until August 2024 when she joined Wotton Kearney. She currently works in Probono and Diversity and Inclusion. Charo has experience in Coronial Inquests, Consumer Law, Banking and Finance, Discrimination and Human Rights.
