I am a certified, educated Healthcare Professional. I have 20 years expertise and experience within the medical field from Medical Assisting, Limited Scope X-ray, Insurance Billing, Medical Coding, Long term care, Hospice, and EHR/EMR. I have a BSBA in Healthcare Management, an Associates of Science in General Studies, Associates of Occupational Studies, certification in Medical Assisting, certification in CBCS through National Healthcare Association, and is currently working on my certification for CPC through American Association of Professional Coders. I have a vast knowledge in EHR applications, Epic, Meditech, Allscripts, PACS, Microsoft Office, and Citrix, and Cerner applications just to name a few. I also have experience in teaching and educating individuals on EMR/EHR by way of elbow support to both Physicians and Nurses, and orientating new hires to company policies and procedures in both the classroom and online. I have worked in settings that have provided me with the skills and experiences deemed directly toward helping individuals/patients of all walks of life. Dealing with people/patients requires impeccable judgment and a high degree of professionalism. Having a background in the medical field has allowed me the opportunity for interpersonal interaction with individuals from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and racial backgrounds, providing me with a multicultural awareness. The knowledge from these experiences have provided me with a solid foundation in accountability, courage, leadership skills, commitment to excellence, open communication, and having a systems perspective in all that I do.
