About Chase Bernier

I am currently pursuing a Master of Public Health at Cornell University with a concentration on Food Systems and Health, a systems approach to assess policies/interventions that ensure safe and sustainable land use, food production, and consumption for global and local communities. This concentration also focuses on developing interventions within a one health perspective and utilizing monitoring and evaluation processes to verify public health needs are being reached. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Food Marketing at Saint Joseph's University. My education and work experience have provided me with substantial knowledge and skills in public health nutrition, prevention, education, monitoring & evaluation, and outreach; as well as emergency preparedness and response. As someone who interned for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, I researched and created educational resources for our partnering agencies to access reliable health and nutrition information. Additionally, I participated in fieldwork opportunities throughout the Southern Tier where I received hands-on experience improving health and nutrition among food-insecure populations; some of these included mobile food pantries & education workshops. Previously, I worked as a Human Resources Intern at Chelsea Senior Living where I engaged in different projects to improve our workforce and expanded my professional network such as attending negotiation meetings around our footprint. I am very passionate about helping others and promoting equitable public health outcomes for vulnerable communities and populations through evidence-based approaches. I am excited to learn and grow my skills in any future opportunities I receive. I have solid teamwork, leadership, and communication skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word/Outlook.
