About Chase Bloch

I have been working as an academic researcher for over 6 years with a special focus on data analytics and data science. Throughout my time as a Ph.D. candidate, I was hired to assist with many data-focused research tasks as well as to teach data-science-focused courses including the Social Data Analytics Capstone course. In my own research, I have worked heavily with text data, NLP, and machine learning. For one of my most successful projects, I developed a new method of machine-human-hybrid classification which leveraged confidence scores from classification algorithms to classify news articles into different categories of international conflict with over 95% accuracy. I have a strong passion for advancing knowledge and developing useful products through the use of data.
