As a General Chairperson at SMART Transportation Division, I negotiate and enforce union contracts, advocate for rail safety and worker rights, and collaborate with management and to resolve issues and improve working conditions. I also have over nine years of experience as a Locomotive Engineer at The Port of Texas City - Texas City Terminal Railway Company, where I operate and maintain trains, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to new hires. I am skilled in rail operations, railroad engineering, and job coaching, and I have a passion for art and creativity. I hold an Associate's degree in Art/Art Studies from Galveston College, where I learned to express myself and appreciate different perspectives. My goal is to advance my career in the transportation industry and contribute to making it safer, more efficient, and more sustainable.
