About Chase Christensen

The idea that people learn best by doing, become good with practice, and reach a level of excellence through teaching others is a deeply held belief of mine. Progressing through each one of these levels requires a person to take on challenges and act outside of their comfort zone. If you find your work easy then you selling yourself short. My role as a teaching assistant at Rutgers University was vital for my professional development. The position allowed me to hone my knowledge of the sciences, improve my time management skills, and conquer my fear of public speaking. Fulfilling my role in an ovarian cancer research laboratory granted me additional knowledge in drug combination studies and various assays. This early opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a lab setting will be carried with me forever. Learning how to conduct experiments, document findings, analyze data and adhere to research standards can all be viewed as basic tasks. However, being taught how to do them correctly built a sound foundation for future learning.
