Chase is a business litigator who specializes in briefing and arguing critical motions and appeals—the most decisive factor in modern complex commercial litigation. He has authored briefs and presented oral arguments in the Texas Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Federal Circuit and Ninth Circuit, U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board, Texas courts of appeal, and various trial courts across the country. Kowalski, 704 S.W.3d 550 (Tex. Appellate counsel to Parkland Hospital securing 9-0 reversal of two lower-court decisions and rendition of judgment, dismissing all claims of alleged employment discrimination and retaliation. Repifi Vendor Logistics, Inc. v. IntelliCentrics, Inc, No. 2021-1906 (Fed. Cir. Appellate counsel to IntelliCentrics securing 3-0 dismissal of patent litigation claims in the Eastern District of Texas and invalidating patent as ineligible under 35 U.S.C. §101. TDI v. Stonewater Roofing, 696 S.W.3d 646 (Tex. Appellate counsel to Stonewater securing narrow construction of the Texas Insurance Code to avoid First Amendment violations and establish legality of the client’s business model. Galderma Laboratories L.P. v. Teva Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc, No. 19-2396 (Fed. Cir. Appellate counsel to Galderma securing 3-0 reversal of adverse judgment on the briefing alone, reviving patent protection. Chan v. HEI Resources, Inc, 512 P.3d 120 (Colo. Appellate counsel to defendants securing 7-0 decision vacating over $8 million in damages for alleged securities fraud and remanding for initial determination of whether the clients’ interests are subject to securities regulation at all.
