Background
About Chase Stump
Summary: I'm a programmer currently with General Motors. I am skilled in C++, C# and various other languages. I enjoy seeing the lives of other people be enriched and making games. Story at bottom of about me, please read if you wish to understand my motivations. Interests & Hobbies: I love game development. Code, Design, even making 3D models, its all good. I play fighting games. GG, BB, DBZF. The more jank the better. Horror and rogue-likes are also top of my list. A Story: If you will humor me, I do like to tell stories from my past. When I was in my first year of college, second semester I'd hit some hard times. I was a studying chemical engineering at the time. It was, to be entirely blunt, awful. Studying hard wrapping our heads around whatever the subject matter was. People would trade a very dry joke, like the 50 puns on how mol sounds like mole or how STP is both standard temperature and pressure but also a brand of motor oil. I was doing what I was because I thought my research would change the world, and that it was too late to try something else. Well, seeing me stressed a friend from the university brought me to this club room of theirs. There were 3 TVS and people playing on all of them. Smash was always being played and the crowd was, to put it lightly, a rowdy loud bunch. Can't remember what exactly what was being played on the other two TVs, I think Killer Instinct. I didn't even play but I felt relief and levity. People insulted one another, people actually talked, made jokes, even shouted at one another. They were expressing themselves, having fun, not just churning out the next bit of progress for the sake of progress. It was beyond nice. It was what I needed. I hadn’t realized it yet but I think that was the moment I decided I wanted to make games. I wanted to see people actually happy due to my work, I wanted people to be mad because of my work. I wanted them to express themselves and share moments with another because of my work Games, do all of that, they enrich the lives of the people around us.
