I am aware how greatly patient care can be impacted through the use of evidence-based nursing. I also understand the role core measure compliance plays in facilities receiving full reimbursement for the care they give. I have worked in the acute care setting for most of my nursing career and most of the hospitals I have worked for have placed the responsibility of core measure review and compliance with the patient's primary nurse. I am experienced in auditing/concurrent review for core measure sets CHF, PNA, AMI, Stroke, VTE, and SCIP, as well as auditing for compliance with JCAHO bundles: CLABSI, CAUTI, CVC insertion/maintenance and Sepsis. I have strong assessment and critical thinking skills, as well as strong social and communication skills. I can easily develop professional rapport with team members and am adept at mediating problematic issues with patients and patients' family members. My mechanical skill set includes wound vac placement and troubleshooting, strong IV skills, NGT placement and troubleshooting, catheter placement and 3 way bladder irrigation and troubleshooting, post op trach care and deep suctioning, and chest tube, bipap and long term vent management. I have solid experience in Epic, Meditech, Sorian, and Cerner documentation as well as EMAR medication administration.
