About Cheila Ribeiro

Cheila Ribeiro was born in Braga, a city in the North of Portugal, in 1987, is married and a mother of a lovely girl. Cheila is an enthusiastic and motivated person graduated in Biology and master in Molecular Genetics, who has been successfully managing several projects and challenges during her diverse scientific career. Cheila has a professional career of more than 15 years in the Life and Health Sciences field, starting in 2010 as a Molecular Diagnostic Technician and becoming a Molecular Geneticist from 2013 to 2016. During the first years of her career, she was dedicated to the diagnostics of human genetic disorders in different areas such as: oncology, cardiovascular, neurology and rare genetic disorders. Since 2017 Cheila has been guiding her career to the Clinical Research area, with a strong focus on project management activities. In 2018, Cheila joined the Clinical Operations Department of BIAL, a portuguese pharmaceutical company, as a Clinical Research Manager and has been mainly involved in the management of several phase I to IV clinical trials (single and multi-center international trials) that are part of the clinical development of different molecules under development by this pharmaceutical company (research areas: Neurology and Pneumology /Cardiovascular). She has been working in the clinical development of new molecules in collaboration with several top level CROs. Since September 2022, she moved to CRO side and started to work at IQVIA as a Global Site ID Lead, leading the process of delivering a high-quality list of sites that best fit the clinical projects and ensuring a successful process for site ID and study start-up. In March 2023, she started a new professional challenge at AICIB, the Portuguese Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation, as a Health Research Project Manager, working towards AICIB´s mission to promote, coordinate and support projects and activities in the areas of Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation, contributing for the optimization of the clinical, scientific, and technological potential in Portugal.
