About Chelsea Daniel

I am a recent University of Melbourne Honours graduate and award-winning writer working in communications. I am interested in the power of art and storytelling and how it can enact change. In 2024 I graduated from my Honours with a H1 at the University of Melbourne, completing a thesis on Mothers in Australian Horror Cinema. Before then, I double majored in Screen and Cultural studies and Politics and International Relations. I was the first in my family to complete such a degree. I have over four years of paid experience in administration, advocacy, communications, human resources, marketing and media. This work has primarily been in the social sector. I also regularly contribute to publications like Farrago Magazine and have had work published in Overland, Parliament of Victoria Blog, Antithesis and more. In the past few years, I have been lucky enough to be an inaugural member of Parliament Express and a member of The Melbourne Women in Film Festival's 2023 Critics Lab. in 2023, I was awarded the Fitzpatrick Reporter of the Year Award at Farrago Magazine. I wish to dedicate my career to make positive and progressive change, either through art, education, or the social sector.
