About Chelsea Dugger

I am a passionate woman who aspires to make the world a better place by aligning my actions with my values in both my personal and professional life. I care deeply for making decisions from a place of awareness around fostering equality, building inclusive spaces, and practicing radical authenticity. I believe in the power of transparency and information sharing to empower the people and communities I serve. I embrace everything in life with a growth mindset. Thus far, in the first stage of my career, I have gravitated towards higher education since I appreciate how continuing education can transform the lives of not only individual students, but their families, communities, and society as a whole as well. As the proud daughter of public school teachers and the older sister to a farmer, my family has instilled in me a commitment to serving the public good. My family sparks the ultimate joy in my life. I am a very curious person who loves to learn. My main interests span public health (particularly HIV/AIDS prevention and Neglected Tropical Diseases), disaster response and community resiliency, nonprofit engagement, educational access and opportunity, labor and human rights (particularly for migrants and farmworkers), sustainability and citizen science, and increasing civic engagement. I thrive in people-centered environments that are committed to a purposeful mission and have a strong value system to guide their day to day processes. While I primarily enjoy speaking with people and building organic relationships, I am also fascinated by uncovering insights by strategically engaging with data. Finally, I find tremendous value in sharing the knowledge I've acquired. I intentionally seek out opportunities to collaborate in order to ensure diverse perspectives are integrated in the final approach to a problem or event.
