About Chen Hao

I've been trained as interaction designer, developed further as a design researcher and I'm practicing as a service designer. My design and research work have always been inspired by people’s everyday lives. I listen to user stories and bring ideas to life. I help stakeholders to learn and apply customer-centric way of working and together deliver a great customer experience. Traveling around the world feeds my love for cultural diversity and fuels my creativity. I have a passion to connect people, culture and design. This triggered me to initiate my PhD research, during which I developed Cultura, a design method for design teams to achieve intercultural empathy. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work in both industry and academia. I've honed my skills in co-design, service design, culture-sensitive design, and UX research, and have had the pleasure of sharing my knowledge with students and design professionals alike. My experience in both worlds has taught me the value of connecting the two, and I'm always looking for ways to bridge the gap between industry and academia.
