About Chenelle Fraser

A resourceful, methodical and attentive Mechanical Engineer with Masters Degree in Engineering & Mechanical Research. Experienced in designing and analysing tailings transport systems and related equipment. Due to the nature of my work I hold outstanding organisational skills when completing an array of projects, often to tight deadlines in challenging environments. I’m a confident communicator who is highly efficient and resourceful whilst being able to adapt well to new surroundings and learn new processes and systems to achieve outstanding results and viable solutions. Strong ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads whilst under pressure. Since graduating from Stellenbosch University I have been working at Paterson and Cooke Consulting Engineers - World leaders in Slurry Systems Engineering. I have played integral roles in many projects including a complex tailings pumping study with a large variability in ore material. I have also been involved in backfill studies and many other tailings pipeline concept and feasibility studies. I've also been fortunate enough to spend some time in the laboratory learning slurry flow (non-Newtonian flow) behaviour and how to use various test equipment, such as a rotational viscometer. Many of the test procedures I learned are used for determining slurry properties and characteristics for input into friction loss models. I have gained valuable knowledge of non-Newtonian fluids and how to analyse non-Newtonian fluid flow.
