About Chenjie Wang

I am a student currently studying Civil Engineering at Queen’s University. I chose this program so I can use technology to improve civilization, specifically, by aiming to develop better water purification and agriculture systems to combat world hunger. Another large factor is that the program of applied science teaches students how to improve critical thinking and teamwork skills. I had a wonderful time serving as a volunteer for over 350 hours during my high school career. My volunteer efforts were dedicated to educating children and youths as well as counselling international students. Those experiences not only taught me strong communication skills and problem-solving skills but also helped the community by giving support to those in need. My favourite hobby is long-distance running. My passion for being an athlete drives me to never stop training, regardless of the weather or temperature conditions throughout the year. I attended and completed running events such as high school cross-country (6km), Rankin Cancer Run (5km), and Run for the Grapes (half marathon, 21km). My dedication to athletic training developed my perseverance, I will never stop trying until my goals are achieved. I am very talented at time management and act responsibly and professionally at all times. I am very methodical and will complete tasks at high-quality standards on schedule. My punctuality motivates me to always arrive at work and complete tasks on time.
