About Chenyu Wang

Dr. Tim Wang is an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, pioneering clinical neuroimaging innovations for neurodegenerative diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS) and dementia. With a background in electronics engineering and neuroscience/neuroimaging, he has established himself as a leader in the development and translation of clinical imaging solutions. He is the Multiple Sclerosis Australia Fellow and the inaugural Nerve Research Foundation Fellow, leading cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI, neuroimaging, and precision medicine at the University of Sydney's Brain and Mind Centre. Since 2017, he has operationalised over $10 million in government-funded industry-research grants, driving advancements that have led to real-world efficiency gains for clinicians, improved diagnostics and disease monitoring for patients, and novel insights into the pathophysiology of brain diseases. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Wang is a co-founder of the Sydney Neuroimaging Analysis Centre (SNAC), where he has been instrumental in building and leading a multidisciplinary team of 40+ researchers, engineers, developers, and clinicians over a decade. His leadership spans research, product development, and clinical trial/service divisions, delivering AI-powered neuroimaging solutions for regulatory-approved clinical applications. Dr. Wang’s work is dedicated to advancing neurology, radiology, and clinical care through the integration of AI and neuroimaging, shaping the future of precision medicine in managing neurological disorders.
