Hello all! I hope this profile can deliver some more insight into the nuances of my newfound professional career. I have an educational foundation in Communications and a minor in Literatures in English. Currently, I thrive as an assistant in a quantity surveying company, where I excel in administrative and practical tasks; this includes a little bit of everything: human resource work, liaising with various contractors and hardwares, and making sure we have a lot of yummy snacks in the office! When I first started UWI, I majored in Literature; literature was and still is my biggest passion. I'm an avid reader and aspiring writer. However, during the pandemic I decided it would be best to pursue a degree in Communications alongside my Literature classes. This line of study allowed me to also explore my love for activism in causes like feminism, women's issues, and environmentalism. I then moved on to temporarily be a director in a local activist group, For Change. I actively contribute my time and energy to causes close to my heart. I believe in the power of effective communication to bring about positive change. Looking ahead, my aim is to leverage my skills and experience to transition into a career focused on communications, media, and activism. With a deep understanding of the importance of engaging narratives and compelling messaging, I am committed to making a meaningful impact through strategic communication efforts.
