About Cheri Lipps

I have spent more than 25 years working in workforce development, apprenticeship administration, and training operations in Alaska.I currently serve as Associate Director for the Alaska Teamster‑Employer Service Training Trust, where I oversee daily training operations, financial administration, compliance, grants, and regulatory requirements across multiple programs. My work focuses on making sure training is practical, accountable, and aligned with real jobsite conditions.I also serve as Board Chair for Best Beginnings, supporting governance, strategy, fundraising, and fun‑raising efforts that advance early childhood health, education, and family support statewide.My perspective is grounded in lived experience. I am a high school graduate and a graduate of the same CDL training program now attended by ATESTT apprentices. Everything I have learned beyond that has come from doing the work. Supporting apprentices, instructors, employers, and organizations through real challenges and real responsibility.I care deeply about training systems that work in the real world and organizations that support people across all stages of life. I share insights here based on experience, responsibility, and what I continue to learn.
