Background
About Cheryl Bryan
WHAT I HAVE DONE. I have over twenty years of progressive experience in the ADR field as an Accredited Mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS). I am appointed to the Mediator Panels of the- Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman including Franchising and Horticulture - Qld Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT)- Qld Dept of Justice and Attorney-General Dispute Resolution Branch - Qld Court Ordered Child Protection Conferencing Unit - Qld Rural and Industry Development Authority Farm Business Debt - Mediation and Conciliation Network (International) I am also registered as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Australian Attorney-General's Department. WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU. My approach to Mediation is that Mediators are not decision makers, will not force you to accept a settlement you do not agree with, and do not give legal advice. Instead a Mediator will guide you through the topics of the dispute and give you the best chance of settling the dispute. As a professional Mediator who has handled more than cases, I will lead you through the confidential process, exploring the differences that separate you, and then work with you in developing a solution to which both parties agree. I am trained to handle conflict and tense situations, and rather than letting the situation revert to costly and damaging win-lose methods, I will keep the process moving forward to a favourable settlement by creating open communication between participants. My opinion is that litigation and settlement through mediation require separate specialised skills and call on different abilities, personal qualities and involve different mindsets. Mediation can be speedy, economical and conciliatory. SOME EXTRAS.
