About Cheryl Cameron

I am an experienced healthcare leader, educator and researcher with demonstrated competency in innovation, systems thinking, building collaborative networks and partnerships, facilitation, mentoring, team building, project management, evaluation, curriculum design and quality improvement in the development and implementation of health services and education for healthcare professionals and the public. I believe that relationships come first, and that work done collaboratively with diverse perspectives, broad participation across disciplines, and the authentic engagement of citizens and communities creates solutions that are more valuable. I have had the privilege across my career to lead and contribute to a number of large health system innovations including- Paramedics and Social Prescribing National Spread Collaborative (Health Excellence Canada)- National Competency Framework for Paramedics project with the Canadian Standards Association and Paramedic Association of Canada - Career Framework for Paramedics, Paramedic Association of Canada - Paramedics Providing Palliative Care National Spread Collaborative (with Health Excellence Canada, the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer and multiple palliative care and paramedic services across Canada)- Alberta Provincial EMS Palliative/End-of-Life Care Assess Treat and Refer Program with Alberta Health Services - Alberta EMS Palliative Care Competency Profile with Covenant Health As current Director of Operations with Canadian Virtual Hospice, I have led and supported multidisciplinary teams, including experts, healthcare providers, and those with lived experience, to create multiple digital tools and platforms that provide information and support for those living with or caring for others with advancing illness. I am a strong professional with a Master’s Degree focused in Health Sciences Education (MEdHSE), a Senior Fellow with the McNally Project for Paramedicine Research, and a PhD candidate with Monash University currently studying equitable engagement in the development integrated care innovations. I continue to hold registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics as an Advanced Care Paramedic and I am member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
