About Cheryl Davis

Cheryl Davis is a technology and professional learning specialist. She has over 50 years experience as an educator and curriculum developer and has spent over 25 years facilitating collaboration between teachers and students on innovative technologies for the classroom. She has received several grants and awards for her work in education. As an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Google Certified Innovator, a C-SPAN Teacher Senior Fellow, and as special project facilitator in the TPS (Teaching with Primary Sources) Teacher Network, Cheryl has authored web-based lessons and collaborated on education initiatives. She was a contributing author to the original Google Web Search Curriculum for teachers, and has created lessons for Google Apps for Education. She has contributed professional learning ideas to the Apple Education Community and published learning idea resource books to the Apple Book Store. She participated in developing ideas for Apple's Challenge Based Learning. She was selected to be a Teaching with Primary Sources Mentor and Special Project Coordinator for the Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Teachers Network which has received a grant from the Library of Congress. Cheryl has also been a member of the Apple Distinguished Educators Advisory Board. She was also selected to participate in the Apple Distinguished Educator Residence program which placed her at the National Archives and Records Administration. Using National Archives primary sources, she co-wrote a book and online course on the Chinese Exclusion Act which is published and available in the Apple Book store. She has contributed lesson ideas and teacher tips to Apple Education’s Everyone Can Create curriculum. Cheryl has presented at state-wide and national conferences including ISTE and CUE sharing lessons and technology techniques with educators. She has participated as a presenter in the Google Workshop for Educators coordinated by CUE (Computer Using Educators) and presented as an Apple Distinguished Educator at ISTE and CUE. She has worked across a variety of disciplines to help teachers include innovative technologies as an integral part of teaching and learning.
