About Cheryl Howard

I have a passion for simplified processes that result in smooth operations and clean data for accurate analysis, strategic planning, financial analysis and audits. I've worked with Medicaid programs continuously for over 35 years, joining Mercer in 2014. I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with our clients. I have an extensive background which includes 18 years of service with the State of Arizona where I worked as a Finance Manager, MCO Auditor, Eligibility Quality Control Auditor and Case Manager. Quality, efficiency, and a knack for problem solving that has been a driving point for my work in auditing, healthcare economics, process improvement, cost containment and quality initiatives. My technical skills with data have been instrumental in investigation and research into problematic areas allowing for rapid execution of achievable solutions to complex problems. I have worked with Medicaid programs in CA, DE, MA, MN, NC, NJ, NM, NY, PA, and VA as well as SC-DHEC. The work with our clients has included ISCA reviews and PERM solutions. I am very proud to have served for 5 years as the Co-Chair of the LGBT+ Pride Business Resource Group at Mercer. I have recently stepped down from that position but plan to stay actively involved with continued focus on equality, job growth, and retaining LGBT+ employees.
