About Cheryl Marriott

I am an American national who has resided in the UK since 2015. I have recently been granted indefinite leave to remain. I have been a licensed attorney in Texas since 1989. In the US I specialised in family law, primarily representing victims of domestic abuse. Although I have no plans to become qualified as a solicitor in the UK, I am seeking a position in the legal field in which I can take advantage of my knowledge and years of experience practicing family law in the US. I have thus been working as a family law paralegal since 2016. Because of the nature of my work, I have developed exemplary organisational and interpersonal skills, and a degree of professional versatility. Before I was licensed as an attorney, I worked for several years doing secretarial and other clerical work. I am very familiar with various case management and word processing programs and with heavy caseload management. I believe I could be a valuable asset to any organisation.
