About Cheryl Ong

I am currently a Year 2 Student at Republic Polytechnic's School of Hospitality. Pursuing in the Events MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Convention and Exhibition) track and working towards a diploma through the polytechnic pathway. As a graduate of ITE (Institute of Technical Education), I was equipped with lots of different skill sets, for example, communication. I was given many opportunities like hosting global students to having to intern, it has allowed me to strengthen my communication skills and made me aspire to travel with my work and be able to communicate with others more, experiencing and taking up challenges like the language barrier. In my free time, I enjoy watching variety shows, learning new languages, and catching up with my overseas friends. As an active member of the Service Learning Club and having the passion to do volunteer work with different organizations and understanding how an event is being run are one of the motivating factors that keep me going and wanting to have wider opportunities to run and plan for large-scale events. At the end of the day, I personally aspire to be the one person who has a great passion for the things that I am invested in and being the happiest and best version of myself.
