About Cheyenne Daugherty

I earned my Associates degree in Business Administration from Orange Coast College in December 2018 and my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration- Marketing at California State University, Long Beach in June 2021. I am currently working towards my Single Subject Teaching Credential for Foundational Mathematics at California State University, Long Beach. From a young age, I had always felt a spark when helping a friend or fellow classmate with something they didn’t fully understand, especially when it came to mathematics. Basically my whole life I have tutored other students and created alternative ways for them to understand the material when the current method wasn’t clicking. I always felt the joy and satisfaction of helping others which sparked my interest in pursuing a career in teaching. My experience tutoring has taught me that not everyone learns in the same way and that methods will need to change based on the students’ needs. Having to come up with alternative ways to help other students understand the material has helped improve my creative thinking that can be utilized well in a classroom environment.
