About Chiara Cooper
I am originally from Italy and since I was little I liked learning and being outside, which led me to develop a passion for environmental sciences. Throughout all my studies at University I knew I wanted to work to help protecting and improving our Natural world. So I studied Environmental Sciences (with a marine focus) for my BSc, then I got a MSc in Marine Biology and Ecology and I just finished a PhD in Freshwater and Marine Biogeochemistry. During my PhD I did an internship in environmental policy and that made me realised how I could link my scientific knowledge to my desire to improve Nature. I am now in a position, as a biodiversity policy support officer, to be able to support my team in shaping environmental policy based on scientific evidence, hence enabling me to fulfil my passion and make a difference.
