As a child I wanted to be a cashier. I was fascinated by the movement of the fingers on the keys, the cash door that opened almost magically, the dexterity of that figure.As a teenager I wanted to be a writer, and I spent hours tapping on the keys - not the keys of a cash register, but the keys of a keyboard, and watching the words and sentences that, character by character, formed on the computer screen.During my high school years I wanted to be a philosopher, a historian, a linguist.in short, to use a popular expression, I had a lot of ideas and well confused.The course I chose for my college path, Informatica Umanistica (we can translate it as "Digital Humanities") gave me the opportunity to look through many doors: programming, linguistics, literature and literatures, publishing. I wrestled with algorithms and crossed my fingers that the art history exam would go well. On some paths I moved only a few steps, on others I went a little further.For my master's degree I chose to delve into digital publishing, and for my thesis I focused on accessible digital publishing, a choice that led me to the reality of Fondazione LIA - Libri Italiani Accessibili, with whom I did my thesis.Since February 2020, I have been a consultant at Fondazione LIA. In these two years, in addition to the issues of accessible digital publishing, I have delved into the topic of Web and digital accessibility.I manage and do accessibility audits for Web sites and apps, combining manual analysis with the support of automated and semi-automated tools in order to verify their compliance with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), i.e, the international reference guidelines on Web accessibility. This activity has led me to analyze on a daily basis HTML and CSS code.I also organize and supervise usability and accessibility tests with users with disabilities.In the context of Fondazione LIA I am also involved in research and development, writing technical news for the newsletter, drafting documents, and interacting with clients.
