About Chiara Groppi

I am an Engineering Physicist specialized in Nanotechnologies, with a PhD in Physics. I work as Senior Industrialization Engineer at WISE Srl, medical device company developing new generation of implantable leads for neuro monitoring and neuro modulation. My role is to support the process industrialization with direct accountability on the thin film metallization, representing a key step in the creation of the devices. I also contribute to the continuous improvement of the entire lifecycle of the production process, from conception to industrialization. My former background was at Politecnico di Milano, where I worked on a project in collaboration with STMicroelectronics (major electronics and semiconductors manufacturer). My focus area was the growth and characterization of lead-free biocompatible piezoelectric materials and their applications in MEMS (Micro Electro- Mechanical Systems) device technology. As a part of the PhD, I also worked as teaching assistant for Physics Course of Construction Engineering Bachelor Degree and as co-supervisor of Master Thesis in Engineering Physics for graduate students. My professional path also includes an Internship at Groningen University, where I supported several activities in the area of nanofunctional oxides. As a person, I am empathetic, adaptable, creative, quick learner, able to manage time effectively. Thanks to University and other experiences, I am familiar with operating in multicultural environments. I am very passionate about extending my expertise on different areas and I particularly enjoy multidisciplinary cooperation.
