About Chiara Merlin

Ciao! I'm Chiara Merlin, a 21-year-old graduate student in International and Diplomatic Sciences from Alma Mater Studiorum in Bologna. I am now a master's student in International Relations at the University of Rome, La Sapienza I am a Junior Researcher for Mondo Internazionale APS where I publish research on various topics. For Mondo Internazionale Post I am a producer of informative content in social pages! I am a volunteer at UNV United Nations Volunteer Platform: for 3 months I edited articles for UNAYPAD, United Nation for African Youth Peace and Development. I also served as Data Collector for UNDP's first global women's survey, Women We Want, the results of which will be presented at the Summit for Future in UNHQs in September. I have served as Content Strategist for the same project, helping UNs pursue their goals! In the summer of 2022 I volunteered at a Salesian oratory a few miles from Odessa, Moldova. I was an intern at IIMA (International Institute Mary Help of Christians) an NGO with special consultative status (ECOSOC) since 2008 at the United Nations. I currently continue to work with this wonderful organization! ‍Recently I was appointed President of the Global Network of Political Leaders Italy, to advance youth empowerment within national and international civic and political participation. In 2023, I was G20 Global Ambassador for ISPI. 🧐My curiosities are related to the topics of human rights, the European Union, geopolitics, and Italian and international current events, which I try to explore every day by reading newspapers and listening to podcasts. I am an enterprising, curious person, highly motivated in everything I do. Tireless traveler and reader!
